Shirley Ann (Harrington) Domokos entered the presence of her Savior on April 30, 2025, while a resident of Mill Pond in Ankeny, IA. She was born March 21, 1938, in Peoria, IL. As a child, Shirley placed her faith and trust in Jesus Christ and, as an adult, spent her life serving her Lord however she could.
After graduating from high school, Shirley attended Cedarville College (now Cedarville University) and graduated with a major in music. While attending Cedarville, she met Robert Domokos, and they were united in marriage on June 30, 1962.
Shirley worked as a secretary while Robert was in seminary and was by his side as a pastor’s wife when he pastored churches in Indiana and Ohio. Robert, Shirley, and their two children, Michael and Brenda, moved to Ankeny, IA, in 1972, when Robert became a professor at Faith Baptist Bible College.
Shirley used her musical ability to faithfully serve as church organist, and often pianist, including as organist at Ankeny Baptist Church for 40 years. After her children were grown, Shirley worked part-time in the Accounting Office and then as the secretary for the Music Department at Faith Baptist Bible College & Theological Seminary.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Gross and Lorene (Fields) Harrington, and a brother, Marvin Harrington. She is survived by her husband Robert, son Michael (Kimberly), daughter Brenda (Brian) Thomas, granddaughters Jessica (Joshua) Carey and Lindsey Thomas, and a brother, Kenneth (Mary Ann) Harrington.
The family thanks the healthcare and hospice workers at Mill Pond for assisting Shirley through the advanced stages of Parkinson’s.

"The rarest of all human qualities is consistency." (Jeremy Bentham) I never had the pleasure of meeting Shirley, Dr Bob, but Paula assures me that she was a solid rock to you and to the cause of Christ.
We are confident that God will be just what you need Him to be. God bless and may the peace of God keep you. Stan and Paula (who still calls you Dad Domikos); Luton, England
Mrs. Domokos was always kind and loving to me while I attended FBBC from 1973 to 1977. She was a special wife, mother, and friend.
