Obituary For Sandra Tanberg

Sandra L. Tanberg, 76, of Ankeny, IA, passed away on January 2, 2025.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd, Ankeny, IA) at 11:30 AM, with an inurnment to follow at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.

Sandra was born on March 5, 1948, in Des Moines, IA, to Gus and Dorothy (Hennick) Hay. She grew up on the family farm near Farrar, IA, and graduated from Mingo Community School in May 1966. Following high school, she married Stephen F. Sesker, and together they had four children: Stephanie Lynn, Stacey Lee, Stephen Bryan, and Sunday LuAnn. Sandra worked at Bankers Life (Principal Financial), Story County Long-Term Care, and Mill Pond Retirement Community. She met David Tanberg in September 1997, and they were married on September 14, 2002. Sandra retired from Mill Pond in 2016 and was a member of the Maxwell Christian Church. Sandy loved sharing her cooking, was devoted to her residents, enjoyed trips to the casino, cherished her grandchildren, and valued quality time with her family.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Stephanie (Matt) Phillips, Stacey (Tim) Perry, Steve (Rose) Sesker, and Sunday (Dale) Eisenbeisz; her grandchildren, Kinsey (Austin) Hauser, Madison (Jacob) Norgaard, Colton (Maddie) Phillips, Tanner, Kelcey, and Chase Perry, Ava Sesker, and Jerzi, Ellie, Brynli, and Camden Eisenbeisz; her great-grandson, Hutchinson Hauser; her sister-in-law, Mary Hay; many nieces, nephews, friends; and her beloved Yorkie, Sammie. Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, David; her parents; her sister, Sharon; and her brother, Tim.
