Obituary For Michael W Dwyer
Michael “Mike” W. Dwyer, 72, passed away January 22, 2025, of cancer.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Ankeny Memorial Gardens (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd).
Mike was born July 25, 1952 in Des Moines, IA, to William and Isabelle Dwyer. He graduated from Dowling High School and Briarcliff College. Mike worked for Youth Homes for Boys Orchard Place, then Newton Correctional where he retired.
Mike is survived by Luanne Cumings Dwyer; children, Abbigail (Michael) Hanson and Lacy Dwyer; grandchildren, Julien, Jordan, and Ruthie Dwyer; and sister, Pat Dwyer of Colorado. He joins his parents; and son, Micky Dwyer in Heaven.
The family would like to thank Sunnyview Care Center and Suncrest Hospice. They especially want to thank all his Dowling friends who visited and cheered him up.

I worked with Mike at NCF. I hadn't seen him since we retired. But he was a good man...always had a smile...and always was firm, fair, and consistent just like we were trained. I never saw him get rattled on the job. My condolences to his loved ones.
