Obituary For Michael Guy Haws

Michael Guy Haws, 79, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Powers Warren Cemetery in Runnells, Iowa.

Mike was born on January 5, 1946, in McCallsburg, Iowa, to Lawrence and Enid Haws. Mike grew up in Colo, Iowa on the family farm with his brothers Kelly and Pat.

On April 10,1946, Mike married the love of his life, Joyce Haws. Over the years, they lived in Roland, Rynbeck, Colo, and Washington before settling in Ogden, Iowa, where they lived on an acreage outside of town. Later they moved to and resided in Ankeny, Iowa.

Mike will be remembered for his wisdom, humor, generosity, and entrepreneurial spirit. Mike did everything with a purpose, putting others first and always willing to listen and mentor others.

Mike is survived by his sons, Rod (Lisa) and Jim (Shelly); daughters, Debbie and Jodi; beloved grandchildren, Madison, Hunter, Hudson, Dylan (Caitlyn), Devyn (Andrew), Emily (Alec), CJ, Jaden, Jorden, Ryan, Halie, Bri, Blake and Blair; and great-grandchildren, Winston, Malcolm, Everett, Zariyah, Ryker and Rollins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; parents, Lawrence and Enid; brothers, Kelly and Pat; daughter, Audrey; and father and mother-in-law, Glen and Jane Forhwein.
