Marshall Scott Barkema, 68, of Ankeny, passed away peacefully December 15, 2025.

Marshall was born September 4, 1957, in Story City, Iowa, to Richard George Barkema and Lorris (Nelson) Barkema. He attended school at South Hamilton, Murray, and Clarke County Community Schools. Marshall owned and operated Barkema Realty and Insurance in Murray, Iowa, after Richard’s retirement.

He is survived by his son, Devin Fickes; and sister, Marcella Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lorris; son, Zachary Scott Barkema; and brother, Murray Barkema.
