Lindsay Renee (Russell) Johnson, 42, found peace on March 29, 2026.
Lindsay was born on July 15, 1983, in Madison, Wisconsin. Lindsay’s family later moved to California where she learned to roller skate, quickly reaching the competitive level where she placed 13th in the Nationals. In 1992, Lindsay and her family moved to Ankeny and in 2001, she graduated from Ankeny High School. During her senior year, Lindsay was co-captain of the dance team and a member of the All-State Dance squad. She attended UNI and ISU. Lindsay married Jason Johnson in 2014 and made their home in rural Elkhart. Lindsay loved animals and all her many fur-babies.
She is survived by her partner, Aaron Dyar; mother, Sandra Mateer; stepfather, Dwight Mateer; brother, Keith Russell; half-brother, Richard Russell; stepbrother, Michael (Judy) Mateer; and many other family and friends.
Lindsay was preceded in death by her husband, Jason; father, Ronald Russell; and grandparents, Dr. Henry and Lorraine Wick, and Allen and Dorothy Russell.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Lindsay’s name to the GBM Foundation for the treatment and research of Glioblastoma brain cancer.
