Kristin’s remains will be laid to rest at Ankeny Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Ankeny, Iowa.
Kristin was born on August 2, 1984, in Creston, Iowa. She filled her life—and the lives of those around her—with love, laughter, and grace. She was a devoted and passionate mother to her two greatest joys, John Archer and Eleanor Grace. She loved cheering for John at his sports games and watching Eleanor come into her own with pride and admiration. She was previously married to Matthew Ledvina, with whom she had her two children. Kristin lived her life with faith and fierce love.
Her large extended family was truly a gift for Kristin, one that she expressed much gratitude for. She was especially close with her mother, Julie, who was a constant source of love and support. To know Kristin, was to love her. She had a natural and genuine ability to connect with people and was deeply loved by her incredible circle of friends. With her intelligent wit and sarcasm, she made everyone she knew feel at ease and comfortable in her presence. She was the best listener, always ensuring that others felt seen and heard. She was also beautifully humble, never comfortable being the center of attention, yet she was impressive at so many things in her life.
Kristin grew up and graduated high school in Waukee, Iowa. She went on to be a proud graduate of the University of Iowa and was a loyal Hawkeye fan through her life. Following her passion for nursing and caring for others, she graduated from Clarkson College and built an impressive career as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Most recently she worked with Medical Center Anesthesiologists in Des Moines, Iowa. She was highly respected in her professional community, known for her competent and compassionate care. Her colleagues admired her skill and treasured her friendship—many of whom truly loved and supported her through her illness.
Kristin found joy in so many things: a sunny day, live music (anything from the ‘80s to Taylor Swift) and musicals, bingeing a great show, reading, traveling, and being with her beloved dog, Calvin. Ever the organized planner, Kristin was always the one to take on a challenge with strong (stubborn) determination and a great checklist.
She dreamed of seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland, and now, we imagine her seeing them from the best seat in the house—front and center, in peace. Kristin’s strength, grace, warmth, and unwavering love for those she held dear will never be forgotten. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched—especially in her children, who carry her spirit forward every day.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, John Archer Ledvina and Eleanor Grace Ledvina; mother, Julie Boswell; father, Michael Larson (Kara); brother, Zachary Boswell (Anna Marie Freeman); grandmother, Connie Larson; nephew, Kaeden Freeman; niece, Rylan Freeman; niece, Nora Freeman; nephew, James Malcom Boswell; aunts and uncles, Bernie Pettinger, Dale Boswell (Janet), John Boswell (Shirley), Thomas Boswell, Katie Brennan (John), Jenny Sinning (David), Barbara Wimmer (Robert), Patty Mack (Tony), Fred Boswell (Bonnie), Glen Boswell (Rhonda), Teresa Cullen (Jeff), Mark Larson (Shelly), Rob Larson, and numerous cousins; and even more friends.
Kristin was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Teresa Boswell, and Edward Larson; her aunt, Connie Pettinger and cousin David Pettinger.
In lieu of flowers, donations to support Kristin’s children may be sent via Venmo to @KL-Memorialfund, or checks can be made to Julie Boswell. The family is deeply grateful for your generosity.

I was a CRNA during Kristin's anesthesia training in Sioux City. My sincere condolences to family. She had technical skills but more importantly she had compassion for her patients and the respect of her peers.
I still can't quite believe you're gone, Kristin. You had such a bright spirit—funny, creative, kind, and always full of love for the people around you. Some of my favorite memories are wrapped up in our cousin get-togethers and the way you could light up a room with your smile. You faced so much with incredible strength and grace, and I will always admire the way you carried yourself through it all.
I'm heartbroken for Aunt Julie, Archer, and Elanor, and I'm holding them close in my thoughts. I know your love will surround them always. Thank you for the joy you brought to all of us. You'll be deeply missed, and forever remembered with love.
First got to know Kristen when she was seven years old. Such a sweet girl. It was wonderful to see her grow into such a beautiful young woman. She will be missed so much. 💜
