Obituary For James Howard Reynolds

James “Jim” Reynolds, 65, of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Jim was born on January 24, 1961, in Mason City, Iowa, to the late Howard “Skip” Reynolds and Shirley Ann Reynolds (Munnik).

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). A private committal service will follow at 12 p.m.

Jim graduated from Mason City High School in 1979 as a proud Mohawk. He was married to his loving wife, Karla Reynolds, for 42 years. Jim found joy in life’s simple gifts – fishing, golfing, playing cards, traveling, and spending time with his family, friends, and loved ones. He was also a talented cook who loved to entertain, often sharing his delicious dishes and recipes with friends and family. Like his entire family, he was a proud Hawkeye fan. He was also a devoted and loyal friend, qualities that also made him an exceptional manager of people. Jim enjoyed a long and successful career in healthcare administration at MercyOne, Mercy Family Care Network, McKesson, The Iowa Clinic, and Capital Orthopedics.

He is survived by his wife, Karla Reynolds; his daughter, Miranda Reynolds; his son, Nick Reynolds (Ashley); his mother, Shirley Reynolds; his brother, Gary Reynolds (Barb); his sister, Cheri Thomazin (Cal); and his cherished grandchildren, Lola, Owen, Olivia, and Ellis.
