James Allen Foxworthy, affectionately known as Jim, was born on September 3, 1961, in Chula Vista, California. He graduated from Emerson High School in Emerson, Nebraska, where he forged lifelong memories and developed a passion for car racing.
Jim met the love of his life, Cynthia (Cindy) Foxworthy, in Sioux City, Iowa. They married on January 18, 1986, and shared 39 wonderful years together. Their journey began in Sioux City and later took them to Bondurant, Iowa, in 2017. Jim was a father of four children (Amber, Brent, Tori and Cierina) and a ‘Papa’ of four grandchildren (Brooklyn, Brennen, Aubree, and Kyleigh.)
Jim dedicated 10 years of his career to Mrs. Clark's Foods, where he was known for his hard work and dedication. He was a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs cheering them on every Sunday (or yelling at the television.) He loved his family and always had a smile on his face when surrounded by them. His beloved dog, Jax, was his constant companion, bringing joy to his days.
Jim could always be found in his garage working on his car, his daughter’s car, or adding new features to one of his many vehicles. Every 4th of July, Jim entertained his family and neighbors with spectacular fireworks displays, a tradition that will be fondly remembered.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Cindy, and their four children; Amber (Jason) Albizures, Brent (Jeanna) Foxworthy, Tori Foxworthy and Cierina Foxworthy. He was a proud grandfather to Brooklyn Foxworthy (17 years old), Brennen Foxworthy (15 years old), Aubree Albizures (9 years old), and Kyleigh Belk (7 years old). His beloved mother, Mary ‘Andi’ Ellis and stepfather Larry Ellis.
Jim is proceeded in death by his grandparents Manuel B and Ethel Penn, Glenn and Helen Foxworthy and his great grandparents Theo and Maria (Fryer) Myers and Addie Penn Freshour.
Jim's legacy of love and dedication to his family will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held on June 7th from 3:30 – 5:30 pm at The Church of God located at 2130 Easton Blvd, Des Moines, Iowa.
In loving memory of Jim, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Amber Foxworthy using Venmo (@Amber-Foxworthy). All donations will be used for funeral costs and helping the family with other expenses.
We will always carry Jim’s memory in our hearts and are deeply grateful for the love and support we have received.
