Obituary For Jacqueline "Jackie" Schuller

Jacqueline “Jackie” Lee Schuller passed away peacefully at home on July 23, 2026. After holding God’s hand for two years through cancer treatments, she was ready to let Him take her Home. She managed to selflessly hold on until all siblings were by her side so they could be there to comfort each other upon her passing.

A visitation will be held from 4:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026 at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart Catholic Church (510 E. 1st St). A private burial will follow at a later date at St. Mary’s Catholic cemetery in Mallard, IA.

Jackie was born on February 14, 1962, to Mark and Carol (Murphy) Schuller. While she was one of eight children, she always shared a special bond with her twin brother, John. Jackie and her close-knit family were raised on the family farm in Mallard, Iowa, where the bonds she formed with her siblings would remain a treasured part of her life.

Jackie graduated from Mallard High School. She then received a degree as a Registered Nurse. She worked in hospitals in both Emmetsburg and Des Moines. In the 1990’s she shifted her career path to the convenience store business, owning and operating several stores with her husband and business partner, Dan Wilson. After selling their convenience stores, Jackie moved to Ankeny in 2014 to make one final career change to become a real estate agent. She embraced each chapter of her career with dedication, determination, and a commitment to giving her very best. Using her excellent problem-solving skills and drive for new knowledge, she was never afraid to take on a new task or learn a new skill.

Jackie was fun-loving, warm-hearted, and always enjoyed being surrounded by the people she loved. She cherished the time she spent visiting her siblings, nieces, and nephews. She never turned down an opportunity to share a conversation, a drink, and a few good laughs with friends and family. She also loved spending time on the golf course, where she enjoyed both the game and the friendships that came with it. Jackie had a wonderful ability to make memories wherever she went and treasured the time and experiences she shared with those closest to her. A recent memory was attending The Masters in 2024, a trip that brought together her love of golf, adventure, and making memories with people she loved.

Jackie is survived by her siblings, Cathy Backstrom, Joe (Laura) Schuller, Linda (Larry Ruppert), Karen Krug, John (Joan) Schuller, Patty (Mike) Brooks, and Peg (Scott Prohaska) Kolpek; along with her many beloved nieces/nephews, and great nieces/great nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; and brother-in-law, Denny Backstrom.
