Obituary For Edwin Clark Berry, Jr.

Edwin C. Berry, Jr., 60, of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2026, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, also at the funeral home.

Ed graduated from Ankeny High School, where he met the love of his life and soulmate, Cindy Jo (Elliott) Berry. He proudly served two tours in the U.S. Navy, working in the engine room aboard surface ships and earning recognition as Seaman of the Quarter. While serving in the United States Navy, Ed and Cindy Jo were married and welcomed their oldest daughter, beginning the family that would become the center of his life.

Following his military service, he returned to Iowa and earned his Automotive Technology degree from DMACC. Ed recently retired from the City of Ankeny as Fleet Supervisor after a dedicated career.

Ed enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, riding his Harley-Davidson, and spending time with family and friends. In retirement, he and Cindy Jo fulfilled a longtime dream of traveling the northeastern United States in their camper with their beloved dog, Rebel. The journey reflected the life they built together; one filled with exploration, laughter, and making memories wherever the road would take them.

Ed was preceded in death by his father, Edwin C. Berry, Sr.; sister, Melissa; grandparents; and brother-in-law, Chad Elliott.

He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Cindy Jo Berry; daughters, Dena Berry and Cheyenne Berry (Cody Ingram); grandchildren, Blake Berry, Kyson Harvey, Ryker Ingram, Nilah Berry, Madyn Ingram, and Lily Ingram; stepmother, Julie Berry; siblings, Suzanne (Jason) Rosonke, Shane (Jessica) Berry, and Shannon (Brent) Miltner; mother, Patricia Gillogly; along with numerous extended family members, lifelong friends, fellow veterans, and colleagues who will forever treasure his memory.

Ed will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to family, his service to his country, his loyal friendships, and his love of adventure. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
