Cynthia K. Ford, 69, of Ankeny, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Lutheran Church of Hope (520 NW 36th Street, Ankeny).
Born to Delbert and Delores Feyereisen, Cindy grew up in Woodstock, Minnesota, and graduated from Pipestone High School. Soon after, she married the love of her life, George Ford, and together they shared 49 years of devotion, partnership, and joy.
They raised two beautiful children and built a life rooted in hard work as owners of Sherburn Nursery & Floral for 40 years. Cindy gave generously of her time, serving on numerous local committees and always finding ways to make every place she touched a little brighter.
After her retirement, she was able to enjoy her dream home by “the pond,” a place that brought her peace, pride, and countless cherished memories. She loved clothes and fashion and walked into the Funky Zebra Boutique in Ankeny where they offered her the retirement job. She loved her time at this boutique.
She was always in motion, guided by ideas and inspiration, transforming every space she touched into something beautiful and meaningful. Whether crafting, gardening, painting, decorating, or dreaming up new possibilities, her hands and her heart were never still.
Her creativity was more than talent; it was a way of seeing the world. She inspired those around her to look with imagination, purpose, and joy. Her gifts extended far beyond the things she made. She had a remarkable ability to create connections, bringing people together through joyful gatherings as well as quiet, heartfelt conversations.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, George; her daughters, Kate (Justin) Bliesmer of Ankeny and Tracie (Tucker) Schumann of Sherburn; her most treasured blessings, her grandchildren, Julia, Grayson, Cooper, and Cable; her sisters, Judy (Roger) Quiram, Debbie Feyereisen (Special Friend Doug), Connie (Chris) Haugen; her brother, Jim (Joy) Feyereisen; many nieces and nephews; and her cherished in‑laws.
She is also survived by her very special friends, Larry and Linda Bell, with whom she shared miles of memories and countless adventures on their beloved “Bell-Ford” trips.
She will be fondly remembered by her dear friends from the Funky Zebra Boutique.
