Obituary For Cheryl Anne Blaine
Cheryl Anne (Simonsen) Blaine, 78, passed away May 10, 2025, from complications of surgery in Des Moines, IA.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at 10:00 am.
Cheryl was born in Fort Dodge on October 6, 1946, and grew up on a farm in Humboldt. After high school she attended nurses training at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. While attending nursing training, she met her husband, Bill. They were married 57 years.
In 1968, Cheryl and Bill moved to Ankeny where they raised their two children. During her 40-year career as a nurse, she worked in Ankeny for Dr. Dennis Hopkins, Dr. J. Bilgi, and Dr. Val Stratton, where she was a blessing to all her patients.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Bill; children, Michelle Blaine and Aaron (Holly) Blaine; grandchildren, Jordan Breffle, Caitlin (Tyler) Swift, Natalie Breffle, Savannah (Richard) Gulick, Brandon Blaine, and Joslyn Blaine; and great-grandchildren, Easton Swift, Theo Swift, one on the way, Athena Gulick, Axel Gulick, and Atlas Gulick; and very special friend, Judy Erickson and her daughter, Angie Erickson.
