Obituary For Betty Jean Chapman

Betty Jean Chapman passed away on December 6, 2025, in Ankeny, Iowa, with her daughter by her side. She was born on July 7, 1932, in Crowder, Missouri, to Lois and Glenn Powers.

On March 30, 1951, Betty married Earl Chapman in Milan, Illinois. Together they built a life filled with family and cherished memories.

Betty, fondly known as Jean, found joy in simple pleasures. She loved spending time with her close friends in The 50's Club and took pride in her yard. A devoted reader and talented cook, she love Christmas and enjoyed decorating her home. Above all she loved shopping.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Pam Tatge; grandson, Erik (Camie) Tatge; great-grandchildren, Mason and Kaidyn; niece, Robin (Daryl) Drumm; and cousin, Linda Buckrop.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; sister, Shirley Ehlers; brother, Johnny Powers; son, Stephen; and grandson, Chad Tatge.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring, with details to be announced at a later date.
