Bart Alan Hoskins made his final move from his childhood home in Elkhart, Iowa on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at the age of 60.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Kippy’s Place in Elkhart, Iowa. The family will have a private burial at the Elkhart Cemetery preceding the celebration of life.
Bart was born to James and Phyllis (Ferrari) Hoskins on November 27, 1964, in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from North Polk High School in 1982. He was united in marriage to Pam Arnold on July 23, 1988. With this union, they had three children: Ben, Hannah and Abbey. They later divorced but remained friends through the end. Bart’s dream was to live on his parents’ acreage. That dream came to fruition when he built a house for his family “across the pond” from his parents, Jim and Phyllis. There were many years of wonderful memories made on the family acreage.
Bart worked in various positions at Methodist Hospital for many years before working with several different retirement communities. He then worked for himself for a while doing various carpentry jobs. The last several years he has worked for Elite DirtWorks.
Bart was what we called a “jack of all trades”–he could build and fix anything. He worked many odd jobs throughout the years and enjoyed lending a hand to help his friends with different projects. Bart loved his children and family dearly and enjoyed spending time with his brother, Scott. Bart loved to heckle any and everyone and never failed to make a friend wherever he went.
Bart was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Phyllis Hoskins.
He is survived by his children, Benjamin (Dani) Hoskins of Elkhart, IA, Hannah (Alex) Vary of Arion, IA and Abbey Hoskins of Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Lucas, Ryan and Addi Hoskins and Henry and Teddy Vary; his brother, Scott (Michelle Russo) Hoskins of Overland Park, KS; his sister, Lori (Kirk) Fridrich of North Liberty, IA; and several nieces and nephews. .
He will be missed immensely by his family and friends. Celebrate his life!
