Barbara Lee Beveridge, 99, was born on July 28, 1926, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to parents, Charles and Ruth Seeger, and passed away September 17, 2025, in Ankeny, Iowa.
A devoted matriarch, Barbara lived nearly a century, with a deep love for her family and insatiable curiosity about the world. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, and aunt whose life was exemplified by kindness and graciousness. She spent her life creating an inviting home filled with warmth and fellowship. She enjoyed her involvement with the Ankeny Women’s Club and was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She was an active cyclist, bowler, and bridge player. During her 35 years living in Huntington Beach, California, she took full advantage of her proximity to the beach and area golf courses.
Later in life, Barb’s adventurous spirit took her to faraway places where she collected numerous stories, friendships and memories. Her many travels took her to a variety of places throughout Europe and the Middle East. She was particularly thrilled by her trips to St. Petersburg, Russia, and Egypt, where she enjoyed their many cultural offerings. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all who had the joy of knowing her. She showed her family how to love and age gracefully. Her journey may have ended but her story lives on.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James Beveridge; granddaughter, Megan Beveridge; and sister-in-law, Linda Beveridge.
She is survived by her sons, Todd (Vicki) Beveridge, Peter (Mindy) Beveridge, and Dan (Kathy) Beveridge; grandchildren, Joseph (Heather) Beveridge, Jamie (Jon) Lewton, Scott (Kate) Beveridge, Allison (John) Coumoundouros, Kristin (Steve) Lasky, and R.J. Beveridge; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Reese and Charlie Beveridge, Josslyn, Brooklyn and Evelyn Lewton, Jacob and Clara Lasky, and Amarra Coumoundouros; brother-in-law, Douglas Beveridge; nephew, Steven (Cyndi) Beveridge; and niece, Karen Beveridge-Danielson.
