Billie Aldeen Carman passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 20, 2026, at the age of 80, while in the care of Lone Tree Health Care Center. A memorial service will be held at Lone Tree Health Care Center at a later date.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 16, 2026, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.

Born into the Motsinger family, Billie grew up in Missouri. Over the years, she made her home in Ankeny, Iowa; Escondido, California; Mountain Home, Arkansas; and Lone Tree, Iowa. Family was an important part of Billie’s life, and she especially enjoyed spending time with those she loved. She was very creative and enjoyed making crafts of all kinds. She also enjoyed gardening and caring for her plants and flowers. Billie and her husband, Francis, shared a love of travel and cruising, which took them to many places around the world.

Billie is lovingly remembered by her husband, Francis; her children from a previous marriage, David Scanlan, Dennis Small and Debbie Small; and her stepdaughters, Diann (Elwyn) Pearson and Rhonda (Mike) Brouillet, whom she loved as her own. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.

Billie’s love and the memories made with her will be treasured in the hearts of those who knew and loved her for generations to come.
