Tyrell was a proud military veteran whose sense of duty and resilience shaped the way he moved through life. He wasn’t one to seek the spotlight, but those who knew him understood the depth of his character and the quiet determination that defined him.
He found joy in sports, both watching and playing. As an avid softball player, Tyrell traveled across many states, building friendships and memories along the way. Softball wasn’t just a pastime, it was an adventure and a way to give back as he played in support of children battling cancer, a cause close to his heart. When he wasn’t on the field, he was locked in as a loyal fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Braves, and Michigan Wolverines. Game days were not casual events; they were commitments with commentary, strong verbal opinions, and zero tolerance for bad calls.
Above all, he was a loving husband and father. His wife, Chelsey, and their children, Trinity and Roman, were his world; no matter how busy life was, they came first. He was someone his family could always count on, taking great pride in the life they shared together.
If there’s a field, a game, or a scoreboard somewhere beyond life, there’s a good chance Tyrell is already there playing hard, laughing often, keeping score, and make sure everyone brings their “A” game.
Tyrell is survived by his wife, Chelsey; his children, Trinity and Roman; his brothers, Brandon (Lela) and Cody (Jill); his sister, Tasha; his mother, Kathy (Craig); his mother-in-law, Annette (Kerry); his father-in-law, Jack (Patty); his sisters-in-law, Sara and Lindsey; and his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marty Houseman.
If you are able to join the family, Tyrell would love you to wear your favorite sports gear or softball jersey.
Donations may be directed to the family for them to give proceeds to Jess’ Cancer Crushers, an organization dear to Tyrell’s heart.
