Fredda Lou Wright, 95, of Ankeny passed away on March 27, 2026, in Des Moines, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2026, at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church (2110 W 1st St, Ankeny).
Fredda was born on August 5, 1930, in Independence, Missouri to Harry and Allene Bryson. She graduated from Newton High School and Drake University. In 1950, while attending college at the University of Iowa, Fredda met Avon Wright and the two were married on September 18, 1950. They spent the next 36 years enjoying their life together until Avon’s passing in 1986.
While living in Ankeny, Fredda began her teaching career, teaching Art at Saydel High School. After teaching, she began working with the Iowa Senate.
Fredda was a freelance artist and enjoyed traveling regionally to art shows. She also enjoyed following the Iowa Hawkeyes, gardening, photography, golfing, bird watching, music, playing the piano, and of course beautiful artwork.
Fredda is survived by her three children, Bryson (Mary) Wright, Kimberly Sue Wright (Warren), and Cameron Wright; her grandchildren, Bryson (Analiza) Wright, Jr., Nick Wright, Landis Wubbels, and Michael Wubbels; her great-grandchildren, Ariana, Raeann, Sage, and Aven; as well as many other loving family and friends.
