Angela Alba Carreon, 86, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, in her home surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on January 5, 2026, followed by a memorial service at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd). A private family interment will be held at a later date.

Angela was born on May 18, 1939, in Aguascalientes, Mexico to Carmen and Juana Alba. Angela moved to the United States in her twenties and married her husband of 55 years, Salvador Carreon.

Angela was a devoted mother to her four children, always having food on the table for her family. She loved plants, bringing a twig back to life with her green thumb. A friend to all, she often invited a stranger over for food and conversation. She lovingly shared her cooking skills with anyone who wanted to learn how to cook authentic Mexican food. Angela loved the holidays and enjoyed decorating her home. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Her family is so grateful to have had such an amazing mother and grandmother and know they will never forget all the wonderful things she taught them throughout their lives. Her amazing memories will be forever cherished.

Angela is survived by her three children; Sandra Mendoza (Jose), Elizabeth Carreon, Steven Carreon (Shana); her eight grandchildren, Cristina, Alyssa, Brock, Salena, Vincent, Emily, Christian and Evan; and three great-grandchildren, Kambrie, Bodie and Beau. Angela is preceded in death by her husband, Salvador Carreon, and her son, Sal Carreon.
