Donna J McConkey, 88, passed away on December 16, 2025, in Urbandale, Iowa. Donna was born November 18, 1937, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Roland Lee and Donna Jones. She married Dave McConkey on May 14, 1955.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd).

Donna worked many different jobs, mostly as a babysitter, then as a bookkeeper at Cory’s Hardware in Ankeny, and then Struthers Brothers in Des Moines.

Donna was a member of the Midwest Iowa & National Water-Color Societies. Painting was her passion as well as running and winning Triathlons and Marathons for over 17 years.

Donna is survived by her husband, David McConkey; daughters, Colette Duncan (Tom Steinbeck), Sheri (Michael) Cory, Denette (Robert) Stoll; grandchildren, Angie (Jarod) Chidester, Heather (Eric) Minner, Jason Cory, Chris (Breanna) Cory, Adam (Avery) Cory, Alicia (Bill) Boyd, Joshua Stoll, as well as 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Roland C. Lee and Donna B. Jones, and grandson, Mathew R. Stoll.

Interment will be held at a later date at Memorial Ankeny Gardens, Ankeny, Iowa.
