Jerry Kenneth Kauffman, 91, of Polk City, Iowa went to be with his Lord and savior on December 12, 2025. He was surrounded by family.
A graveside service will be held 12:30 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery (34024 Veterans Memorial Dr, Adel, IA 50003).
Jerry was born June 13, 1934, to Earl and Violet Kauffman, in Rolfe Iowa. He graduated at 16 years old and eagerly joined the US Navy. He was a combat veteran of the Korean War while serving in the Naval Amphibious Forces.
He enjoyed many years on the Lake of the Ozark’s boating and fishing with his family. Jerry loved the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also was the proud owner and founder of Kauffman Builders for 40 years, based in Clive, IA. In later years, he enjoyed traveling with his late wife Susan.
Jerry adored his grandchildren. He loved attending and supporting them during all of their endeavors. He will be remembered for his remarkable strength, goofy jokes, and the love he had for his family.
Jerry is survived by his sons, Shawn (Amber), Jerry, JR (Barbara); daughters, Krystal (JD), Sandy (Craig), and Debbie (Doug); grandchildren, Johnny, Jace, Rhett, Olivia, Christian, Noah, Lindsey, Chad, Gabe, Zach, Danielle, David; brother, Jack Kauffman; as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan; his parents, Earl and Violet Kauffman; brother, Earl Kauffman, Larry Kauffman; sister, Donna Kauffman; daughters, Jolene, Julie; and son, Bobby Kauffman.
Reception will be held following service from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Veterans Reception Center, 910 Main Street, Van Meter, IA 50261.
