Sherrill Roberts, 95, passed away in her sleep on June 2, 2025, in Ankeny, Iowa. Born on September 12, 1929, Sherrill was a beloved mother and grandmother. She grew up as one of four sisters. Her father, Kent Dale, was a minister when he wasn’t away in the Army. Her mother, Evelyn, played the piano at the church. Sherrill spent her childhood moving from town to town. When she found Sam, they created a family and that meant everything to her. The family was her home.

Sherrill is survived by her husband John Roberts, of Marion, Iowa. She is also survived by two daughters, Mavis Butler and Beth Scheetz (Jim), a daughter-in-law Karen Gaddis, and a sister Georgia Holguin. She has surviving grandchildren Nicholas (Tiffany), Kelly (Mikel), Angie (Josh), Sam (Tucker), Anna (Jacob), Matthew (Emma), and Daniel, and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her children’s father Sam Gaddis and her son, Bruce Gaddis (Karen).

A private memorial service will be held on June 8, 2025.
