Margie A. Schima, 76, passed away May 12, 2025, at her home in Ankeny, IA. She was born in Cedar Falls, IA, to Victor and Dorothy Schima.

Margie went through the Cedar Falls School System before attending UNI to become an educator. She was hired by the Ankeny Community Schools where she taught for 35 years. During those years and after retiring she also worked at Younkers for several years.

Upon retiring from teaching, she traveled with her parents and spent cherished time with them. She came out of retirement to work for Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Altoona for nine years, and became fully retired just before the age of 71.

The following years were spent living with her cats, enjoying the company of her friends, and traveling. She loved cruises.

Margie’s final resting place will be at Ankeny Memorial Gardens. Per Margie’s request there will be no memorial service. Memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League in Des Moines, IA.
