Cathy was born February 29, 1948, in Des Moines to Robert and Phyllis (Haubert) Pollard. She graduated from East High School in 1966.
Cathy’s professional life included work at Northwestern Bell, Union Prescription Center, Lutheran Hospital, McLaren’s Funeral Home and retired from Wells Fargo.
Cathy married Dennis Baker in 1967 and though they later divorced, remained friends until his death in 2013.
Cathy enjoyed reading, shopping, going to the lake and spending time with family. While we all know how much she loved us, no one will dispute the love and bond she had with her grandson Kaden. She took advantage of every chance she had to spend time with him even if that meant sitting in the rain and sometimes snow to watch him play soccer.
Cathy is survived by her son Scott (Angie) Baker, daughter Jennifer (Steven) Fattig; grandchildren Kyle (Emily) Fattig, Payton (Felicia) Fattig and Kaden Fattig; great grandchildren James, Quinn and Lily; siblings Bobbie (Terry) Brodersen, Tim Pollard, and Jill (Tim) Boyles as well as many nieces and nephews she adored.
The family can’t say thank you enough to the staff at The Bridges at Ankeny as well as the recent care provided by Suncrest Hospice. Many of these caretakers touched our hearts as they doted on Cathy and she shared her sass with them. Our hearts are forever grateful for you!
